The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room. For example, you can decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However, just good robot vacuum at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's avoided. A large LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that need to be done including emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power which allows it to remove smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss. Like the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It then can alter its path in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without missing a step. This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin automatically refills. The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause abrasions. The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these using the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor battery life. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model. 3. Dreame X40 The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mopping capabilities. Its smart design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time. The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and crumbs. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is very quiet during operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching modes or performing self-maintenance tasks. Another notable feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. It can also get under low-profile furnishings which makes it a great option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements. In contrast to other robots that are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy. The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished. The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it overflows. 4. L20 Ultra The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market, but it packs in many additional features that set it apart. The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a great method to keep your home hygienic for longer. There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. They can be set through the app or there are buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are numerous features that other robots do not have – such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of relying on a manual setting. The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list, at 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and feels robust and well built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
